The Proud Family was an innovative show for the Disney Channel, as it was the first animated series to focus on an African-American family. The Proud Family is charming and sometimes very crazy. The show revolves around precocious Penny, who is going through her early teenage years.
Finding the balance between family, friends, school, and everything teenagers do easier in theory than in practice. It doesn’t help that Penny’s trigenerational family always seems to get into big tangles.
Phineas and Ferb’s stepbrothers enjoy summer vacation the only way they know how: by building ridiculous and hazardous gadgets in their backyard and avoiding the wrath of their older sister Candace.
Phineas and Ferb have the same energy as Family Guy (their co-creator, Dan Povenmire, used to work on Fox’s animated comedy), but in this case, it’s a proposition the whole family can enjoy. It’s a great time to catch up with Phineas and Ferb, as well as enjoy the spinoff movie Candace Against the Universe, also available on Disney +.
Each TV episode features an impromptu sitcom in three segments – a game show, a cooking show, and an interview show – and there are all your favourite Muppet characters, including Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Animal, Gonzo, Beaker and more.
The celebrity guest list includes names like Linda Cardellini, Aubrey Plaza, Seth Rogen, RuPaul, and Danny Trejo. Episode 1, called Due Date ( Due Date), have fun segments.
Although Star Wars: The Clone Wars might have started as your typical action-adventure, it quickly morphed into something much more complicated: a comprehensive and nuanced examination of the horrors of war in the Star Wars universe.
Across six seasons, with a seventh coming to Disney + next winter, The Clone Wars deepened and expanded the Star Wars franchise in unexpected ways. Even better? The end is not the end – the story continues with Star Wars Rebels.
When Dipper and Mabel Pines decide to spend the summer with their great-uncle Stan, a street vendor who runs Gravity Falls’ #1 tourist trap, Mystery Shack, they don’t know what awaits them. Gravity Falls will appeal to fans of X-Files and Twin Peaks.
It’s also exciting and hilarious, and one of the best-animated series of the last 20 years. The mystery and strange creatures of Gravity Falls will draw you in, but it’s the charming characters that will get you. Gravity Falls is unknown, but at the same time, very exciting.
What remains to be said of The Simpsons? Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa, and Maggie aren’t just cartoon characters. They are cultural icons, not to mention the stars of the oldest sitcom in American history.
Sure, at this point, there are probably more bad Simpsons episodes than good ones, but that doesn’t matter. On Disney +, you can rewatch the glory days of seasons 1-10 whenever you want. Trust us. This animated series will never get old.
Wolverine and the X-Men (also available on Disney +) may be the best cartoons, but there’s nothing quite like X-Men: The Animated Series. For its catchy song, the ridiculous costumes designed by Jim Lee, and the weird and funny moments that have sparked thousands of memes.
X-Men, The Animated Series, doesn’t hold up (if it’s ever been good), but it doesn’t matter. This series introduced many fans to Marvel’s fantastic mutants, and it remains one of the most popular versions of the characters and one of the best series on Disney + that you will find.
In Goof Troop, Disney gives us an overview of Goofy living in the suburbs. The iconic Disney character lives in the idyllic town of Spoonerville with his son, Max. This is Goofy’s land, and he happens to have bought a house alongside another recurring Disney character: the big, burly Pete.
The episodes revolve around the shenanigans that only Goofy could get into, though the series is more than just a comedy. The stories are well written, the new characters fit perfectly, and the art style is intense. Disney only kept it for two years (1992 to 1993), but it was successful enough to justify two films: A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie.
Middleton, United States. Happy homes, good schools and –of course– a lot of evil. Fortunately, an extraordinary crime-fighting teen named Kim Possible (Christy Carlson Romano) lives just around the corner. Each of the Kim Possible episodes follows her life.
One day can be difficult due to school or difficult due to the superhuman battles that the famous Dr Drakken must deal with. Fortunately, Kim has her best friend Ron (Will Friedle) and computer genius Wade (Tahj Mowry) to back her up.
Together, they are an unbeatable team. Kim Possible aired from 2002 – 2007 on Disney Plus Channel, making it one of the network’s most popular animated series.
By day, Drake Mallard is an average citizen who cares for his adopted daughter, Gosalyn. At night, he’s Darkwing Duck, a masked superhero who fights crime alongside his sidekick, pilot Launchpad McQuack.
Sure, sometimes Darkwing’s ego gets in the way of stopping evildoers, but when push comes to shove, he’s not just the hero St. Canard needs – he’s the hero St. Canard deserves.
Unlike the other Disney Afternoon cartoons, Gargoyles is a dark and dramatic proposition. Gargoyles’ deep and nuanced characters, serialized plots, and pitch-black is no wonder today, but at the time, there were no cartoons like these (it could resemble Batman: The Animated Series ).
While the third season underwent some changes, the first two remain. If you have Disney +, they are worth seeing again.
Created, produced and presented by prop collector Dan Lanigan, Prop Culture shows us classic Disney movie props. Each episode focuses on a movie, plus conversations with the cast and crew of each, as well as the Disney Archive staff and other surprise guests. Mary Poppins fans will be delighted when the character’s famous bag appears.
Other films of interest include Tron, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Honey, and I Shrunk the Children, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Muppet movie.
